OLD KYIV & KHRESHCHATYK
Old Kyiv is situated on the right bank of the Dnipro River and historically represents the city of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, before it was destroyed by the Mongols in 1240. It dates as far back as the 6th century on the Old Kyiv Hill, where the National Historical Museum now stands. Most of Kyiv’s historical monuments and sites are situated in Old Kyiv and can be visited in a full one- day tour.
Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Khreshchatyk Street are downtown, in the epicenter of the city’s life. Typically as is the case in most world capitals the area is crowded with overpriced restaurants, kitschy cafes and souvenir shops. Kyiv also has some examples of “Stalinist” architecture, the so-called Social Classicism. Since there areso many places to visit in the area, it is hard to choose the ones worth going to. We are going to help you with this difficult decision and We will help you to find an apartment in the center of Kiev.
